The last two months..

..have been very interesting and very fun. I have done something that I thought I would never do. Not wear a gi for an extended period of time, TWO MONTHS. I decided that if I were going to do the Nogi Pan Ams, that Ihad better not touch a gi in preparation. I am of the belief that, you cant mix training with a gi, nogi, mma, etc, if your getting ready for a specific tournament. I know Rafael Mendes believes in this method.

It has been absolutely fun training nogi exclusively. The fact that I dont have to use as much soap to wash my gi’s is cool uhh AWESOME. And for so long I would think just how much my nogi game sucks, and now that is not the case. I feel super comfortable nogi, so much so, that I won the Pan Ams nogi.

Ive been watching everyone train in the gi, and let me tell you, its going to suck for a little bit trying to get used to everything again. November 7th, the cape goes back on in preparation for 2012 season of bjj with the gi! =)

Here’s to winning the NoGi World Championships!
